Job Description

Well-established law firm is seeking a motivated Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys within their established corporate law practice in Downtown Columbus.

This role supports case preparation, communication, and administrative tasks including:

• Manage attorneys' calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate travel.
• Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, agreements, contracts, correspondence, and memoranda.
• Assemble transaction documents, maintain version control, and prepare closing binders.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure timely case progress.
• Maintain physical and electronic files, including scanning, uploading, database entry, and archiving.
• Support internal record keeping systems, CRM tools, and document management processes.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, calls, and inquiries with professionalism.
• Assist with timekeeping, billing, and expense report preparation.
• Participate in firm events or client outreach efforts, including preparing mailing lists or seminar materials.
• Provide back-up support to other administrative staff during busy periods or absences.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of legal administrative experience, ideally with exposure to transactional or corporate law
• High school diploma required, Associate's degree preferred
• Proven ability to support multiple attorneys simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with document management software is required
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Team-oriented with a proactive, service-minded approach
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work product
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
