Job Description

Legal Assistant – Boston Area

A well-established Boston-area law firm is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant to support our busy team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of law firm experience , strong organizational skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365 . Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of civil and commercial litigation from case intake through resolution.
  • Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery requests, correspondence, and other legal documents .
  • Perform legal research and assist with case strategy preparation.
  • Manage court filings , including state and federal e-filing , and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
  • Conduct registry and court searches as needed.
  • Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and document management systems .
  • Track and record time in legal billing systems .
  • Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 365 .
  • Proficiency with timekeeping, document management, and legal billing systems .
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state e-filing procedures preferred.
