We are seeking a Financial Support Assistant to support student financial aid operations within higher education programs. This role works closely with leadership and administrative teams to assist students with financial aid processes, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintain accurate financial aid records. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial aid systems, data entry, and student-facing support.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)Prior experience in financial aid processing or student financial services
Strong data entry and administrative skills
Basic experience with PeopleSoft (PS) or similar student information systems
Knowledge of education department processes and regulations
Hands-on experience filing FAFSA , NJ Grants , and/or STARS
Experience processing student loans and reconciling student financial aid packages
Ability to work occasional late evenings as required
Assist the Director of Financial Aid with the development, implementation, and evaluation of financial aid programs for Nursing and Medical Imaging schools
Serve as a resource for students regarding financial aid information and application processes
Prepare and distribute financial aid information packets and applications
Support the maintenance of scholarship awards, records, and files
Stay current with financial aid regulations, policy updates, and program changes
Collaborate with admissions, registration, fiscal, and academic departments to ensure accurate and timely information flow
Communicate effectively with students, families, visitors, and internal staff
Assist with student services activities such as orientation, graduation, and events
Attend administrative staff meetings and support additional projects as assigned
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Detail-oriented with strong time management abilities
High school diploma or equivalent required
Additional education or certifications in business administration, finance, or education are a plus
