Title: Sr. Workday Benefits Analyst
Location: Onsite in Houston, TX
Type: Direct Hire
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Workday Benefits Analyst to support an upcoming Workday HCM implementation for a global organization. This role will focus on the configuration, optimization, and integration of Workday Benefits and Workday Compensation modules. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience in Workday Benefits configuration and project delivery, with strong knowledge of Compensation processes and post–go-live support.
This is a hands-on, functional role that partners closely with HR, Total Rewards, Payroll, and Technology teams to ensure seamless delivery of Workday functionality — emphasizing benefits strategy, compliance, and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Workday Benefits Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading configuration, testing, implementation, and maintenance of Benefits functionality.
- Manage benefits eligibility rules, plans, rates, enrollment events, and vendor integrations.
- Lead and support system updates, enhancements, and release management specific to Benefits.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Total Rewards teams to ensure accurate administration of benefit deductions, enrollments, and data integrity.
- Support Workday Compensation processes, including merit, bonus, and stock plans.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving Compensation and Benefits to ensure data consistency and aligned employee experiences.
- Troubleshoot system issues, test new functionality, and recommend process and configuration improvements.
- Develop and maintain documentation, dashboards, and reports to support compliance, auditing, and analytics.
- Stay current with Workday releases, benefits compliance regulations, and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive hands-on Workday Benefits experience, including configuration, BPs, requirements gathering, testing, and reporting.
- Strong Workday Compensation experience, including merit, bonus, and stock plan setup.
- Proven experience managing Open Enrollment setup, testing, and execution.
- Strong understanding of integration touchpoints between Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, and Core HCM.
- Experience troubleshooting EIBs, data loads, and benefit interface errors.
- Analytical skills to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or process inefficiencies.
- Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data reconciliation and validation.
- Experience with Workday release management, regression testing, and change control.
- 3+ full lifecycle Workday Benefits implementations.
- Experience supporting migrations from legacy systems to Workday.
- Deep knowledge of benefits compliance (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, 401(k), etc.).
- Experience managing vendor files and third-party integrations.
- Strong understanding of Workday reporting tools (Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields, Dashboards).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8–10 years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, with a focus on Benefits and Compensation.
- 7+ years of experience in Workday consulting or SME roles on medium to large-scale HRIS projects.
