Location: Fridley, MN 55421, United States

Duration: 12 months contract role(HIGH POSSIBLE EXTENSION)

Position Description

  • The Electrical Engineer supports the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex military equipment.
  • In this role, the Electrical Engineer: researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components. Utilizing advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services and their ability to deliver required products or services
  • The qualified candidate will work under general direction of a project engineering lead to perform electrical system design on a variety of military systems, ranging from combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.
  • The Electrical Engineer provides detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product application.

Skills Required

Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge

• Experience in creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings.

• Ability to create and manage interface control documents.

• Ability to perform circuit simulation (PSpice or LTspice)

• Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey data, information, and technical results to customers.

Skills Preferred

Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards

• Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW

• Familiarity with computer programming languages, e.g. C, C#, LabWindows/CVI

• Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio, circuit board schematic & layout tools

• Familiarity with design for components in a high EMI environment

• Systems Engineering and manufacturing knowledge.

• Knowledge of rechargeable batteries and battery management systems.

Experience Required

Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis

• Experience developing technical documentation – such as drawings, reports, & technical analysis

Experience Preferred

Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.

• Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and development of electronic control logic.

• Experience with developing and integrating power generation, conversion and storage solutions.

• Experience in the development and integration of ammunition handling/loading systems including autoloaders and large caliber rammer systems.

Education Required

Typically requires 3+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or 2+ years with a Master's degree
