Process Engineer (Medical Device Manufacturing)

Location: Palmetto, Florida Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000

Spherion is searching for an experienced Process Engineer to join a premier medical device organization in Palmetto, FL . Reporting directly to the Site Director, this is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly influence the efficiency, quality, and successful launch of high-value products.

The Role: Process Development & Technical Leadership

The Process Engineer manages, inspects, tests, and modifies equipment and procedures to develop and maintain optimal manufacturing processes that yield high-quality products efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Support & Troubleshooting: Provide direct, hands-on support to production lines, quickly solving ongoing technical problems and minimizing downtime.
  • Process Improvement: Diagnose, design, and implement improvements to existing production processes, including conducting necessary tests, qualifications, and updating work instructions (WI).
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead NPI activities from an engineering perspective, including all required tests, qualifications, and documentation needed to approve new production lines.
  • Compliance & Validation: Perform process and equipment validations and update standard operating procedures to ensure continuous compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Solution Specification: Allocate needs for new equipment or systems and specify the optimal technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: BSc. in Mechanical Engineer or a similar technical degree.
  • Experience: Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years in a relevant engineering role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in a medical production company is required. Experience with disposable medical device manufacturing is a strong advantage.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with GMP, ISO, and FDA requirements .
  • Technical Advantage: Experience using CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Pro E, or similar is an advantage. Experience with ECR/ECO, equipment qualification, and writing maintenance WIs is also beneficial.
