Retail Pharmacy Technician – Contract Assignment

Location: Hubertus, Wisconsin 53033

Assignment Duration: Dec 1, 2025 – Feb 28, 2026

Schedule: 8-hour Day Shift, 40 hours/week

Weekends: Every other weekend (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.)

Requirements: Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience + CPhT Certification

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Retail Pharmacy Technician to join a fast-paced, patient-centered retail pharmacy environment. This on-site contract role supports pharmacists with essential tasks including medication dispensing, customer service, insurance processing, and general workflow operations.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician I performs a blend of clerical, technical, and distributive functions to support pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and timely medications to patients.

This role may involve work at both the home pharmacy site and other pharmacy locations, with opportunities for cross-training as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve pharmacy customers professionally by collecting demographic and insurance information, entering data, verifying insurance, generating labels, and performing cashier duties.
  • Assist in medication dispensing and delivery, ensuring accuracy within automation systems and maintaining proper storage and documentation.
  • Support insurance and billing functions including data entry, prior authorizations, correcting claim errors, and managing private insurance, workers’ compensation, and Medicare/Medicaid issues.
  • Assist with assigned clinical support tasks such as DIR-fee processes.
  • When applicable, assist customers with diabetic footwear selection, fitting, insurance submission, and documentation.
  • Float between Client’s Pharmacy locations to support staffing and workflow.
  • Maintain competency in pharmacy procedures, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow all controlled substance procedures and USP requirements.
  • Demonstrate understanding of age-appropriate care and patient development principles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong math skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Willingness to learn and adapt within standardized pharmacy operations
  • Diabetic shoe fitting certification may be required (training provided)
  • Life-support training may be required at department discretion

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, and reach throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull items such as boxes, carts, and bags using safe technique
  • Deliver medications through various approved methods (bedside, curbside, etc.)
  • Travel between pharmacy locations as needed

Physical standards include:

  • Lifting up to 35 lbs from floor to chest
  • Carrying up to 35 lbs at waist height
  • Pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs of force
