Cloud Architect Client: United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) POP: 12+ months Location: Remote

SCOPE

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the cloud design and delivery of a hybrid cloud solution leveraging VMware infrastructure and public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). This role is critical in enabling a scalable, secure, and high-performance landscape that integrates on-premises systems with cloud-native services.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 10+ years of cloud engineering and architecture experience
• 5+ years of designing and implementing enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• 4+ years of designing and managing virtualized infrastructure (vSphere, NSX, vSAN) to support SAP workloads in hybrid environments.
• 4+ years of building and managing seamless connectivity between on-premises VMware environments and public cloud platforms.
• 4+ years of implementing secure architectures and ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, or NIST.
• 3+ years of using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or PowerCLI to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• 3+ years of applying structured methodologies (e.g. TOGAF) to align IT architecture with business strategy and governance.

TASKS

• Lead the design of the hybrid cloud architecture for SAP, integrating VMware-based on-prem infrastructure with public cloud platforms.
• Define technical standards, deployment models, and scalability strategies.
• Oversee the deployment and configuration of the infrastructure needed for the SAP systems and ensure that it meets performance needs
• Design and implement secure, high-performance connectivity between on-premises VMware environments and cloud services.
• Address networking, identity, and data flow requirements.
• Ensure the architecture adheres to enterprise security policies and regulatory standards.
• Implement controls for access, encryption, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
• Work closely with enterprise architects, SAP teams, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Document architecture decisions, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
