Job Description

Crimson Connections is a Harvard-founded tutoring company supporting high-achieving high school student-athletes. We connect students with exceptional tutors from top American universities who are not only strong teachers, but confident mentors and engaging leaders—especially in a virtual setting.

We are seeking History tutors who can teach historical content clearly, coach analytical writing, and keep high school students engaged over Zoom.

About the Role

• Fully remote, online tutoring

• Primarily weekday sessions (with occasional exceptions)

• 5–10 hours per week minimum

• Start date: January 2026

• One-year commitment required

• Training and ongoing support provided

What You’ll Do

• Tutor high school students in History (AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP European History, IB History, Honors-level courses)

• Prepare students for unit exams, cumulative tests, and AP/IB exams

• Guide students through historical writing, including:

• Thesis development

• Argument structure

• Use of evidence and sourcing

• DBQs, LEQs, SAQs, and document analysis

• Review and reinforce core historical concepts, timelines, and global themes

• Assist with research projects, presentations, and long-term assignments

• Lead interactive, discussion-based Zoom sessions

• Serve as a mentor and role model, building confidence and academic independence

Who We’re Looking For

Required

• Current student or recent graduate from a top American university (Ivy League or equivalent)

• Completed coursework in both U.S. History and World History at the high school or college level

• Strong academic background in History or a closely related field

• Excellent writing and analytical skills

• Comfortable and confident working with high school students over Zoom

• Outgoing, articulate, and able to maintain engagement online

• Reliable, professional, and well-organized

Strong Plus

• Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience

• Familiarity with AP/IB history curricula and exam formats

• Experience working with student-athletes or high-performing students

• Natural on-camera presence and strong interpersonal skills
