Join a highly respected insurance company specializing in the excess casualty market known for delivering customized risk solutions and fostering long-term partnerships. They’re growing and seeking an experienced Excess Casualty Underwriter to join their team.

The Opportunity:

As an Excess Casualty Underwriter, you’ll underwrite and price new and renewal business, strengthen relationships with wholesale partners, and collaborate with internal teams—including Loss Control, Claims, and Accounting—to drive profitable growth. You’ll assess financials, loss history, and exposure to determine underwriting acceptability, review submissions for accuracy, and set appropriate terms and pricing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently handling smaller accounts or in a junior underwriting role—with retail or wholesale experience—ready to take the next step in their career.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5–7 years of Excess Casualty underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of small account commercial risks
• Track record of building successful relationships with wholesale or retail partners
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant underwriting systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
