Job Description

This is an onsite role at Hickam AFB, Hawaii

Engineering Assistant Support will provide technical administrative services to AFIMSC Det 2 Mission for Air Force MILCON and FSRM Programs. They ensure the proper storage, retrieval, and maintenance of engineering records, project data, deliverable tracking, and other relevant documents. The Engineering Assistant works closely with the MILCON Program Site Lead, project managers, and other technical teams to manage deliverables and taskers through Det 2 Teams Channels, develop standard operating procedures and templates, develop and maintain a library of bullet background papers (and snapshots), edit and format Microsoft Suite documents, etc. The Engineering Assistant also assists in maintaining data integrity, performing thorough administrative functions, and implementing records retention schedules. Position must have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of engineering documentation are essential for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Supports the Air Force (Det 2) MILCON Division Chiefs in the headquarters office with all administrative functions related to the MILCON and FSRM Programs.
  • Supports Cherokee Site Lead and employees with program administrative functions related to filing, tracking, and organizing engineering programs.
  • Organizes program data and advises the Government as necessary of any issues or concerns on engineering programs from an administrative perspective.
  • Participates in the Det 2 meetings as appropriate and coordinates with government and Cherokee employees to review relevant taskers.
  • Participates in the preparation for Det 2 staff travel coordination and approvals.
  • Provides Program Management Support.
  • File necessary MILCON and FSRM Programs paperwork.
  • Retrieve, rename files and place into the appropriate directory on designated government media.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A high school degree or equivalent is required, and an associate degree is preferred.
  • BA/BS or MA/MS is highly desired.
  • Minimum Five (5) years of related work experience with clerical experience involving gathering, filing, and maintaining records and files of technical material.
  • Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of records/document management practices is required.
  • The ability to obtain a Clearance or Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check.
  • Skilled in developing and reviewing designs.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government facility construction standards, horizontal construction (i.e., roads, boat ramps, bridges, and fence), and vertical construction (i.e., buildings) to include have experience in communication and/or video surveillance tower construction and assessments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment as well as working outside in a job site environment.
