Junior Cybersecurity Analyst
Location: Springfield, IL (On-site required)
3-month contract to hire (Potential Hire)
Position Overview:
The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will support security operations by assisting with monitoring, incident response, and security administration activities. This role is ideal for candidates with a technical background who are interested in building a career in Cybersecurity. Training and mentoring will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring security alerts and events using security and monitoring tools.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, and escalation as needed.
- Help maintain and administer security tools, systems, and access controls.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and basic security configuration tasks.
- Work closely with senior security staff, system administrators, and network teams.
- Follow established security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to develop cybersecurity skills.
Qualifications:
- Must be based in Springfield and able to work on-site.
- Technical background required.
- Experience in System Administration or Network Administration preferred.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Cybersecurity.
- Basic understanding of operating systems, networks, or IT infrastructure.
- Willingness to learn security concepts, tools, and best practices.
- Exposure to security concepts, tools, or coursework.
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux systems or networking fundamentals.
- Relevant certifications or coursework (a plus, not required). RECENT College grads are welcome to apply
Training & Development:
