The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.
Safely load, haul, and deliver food waste on intra- and interstate routes, completing 15–25 stops per day based on company-determined routing.
Operate 30–45' open-top dump trailers (combination vehicles) across a regional footprint as assigned by management.
Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in compliance with DOT requirements and all local, state, and federal laws.
Use manual or electric pallet jacks as needed.
Utilize a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers, ensuring all client locations are left clean and free of debris.
Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
Use basic hand tools to complete minor repairs on company bins and equipment.
Maintain basic truck equipment and ensure overall cleanliness of assigned equipment.
Utilize electronic logging systems for DOT driver logs and any additional company requirements.
Accurately complete and submit all required documentation, including contamination/service tickets and truck maintenance forms.
Communicate professionally with customers and vendors to support seamless operations.
Coordinate regularly with the corporate office and operations team regarding service, equipment, and customer-related issues.
Immediately report any accidents or injuries to the Safety Manager.
Work flexible hours based on seasonality—up to 60 hours within 7 days or 70 hours within 8 days.
Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, training sessions, and briefings.
Use a computer and mobile device for training, communication, and expense management.
Be available for reassignment as needed, including interstate routes; all drivers should expect to operate in interstate commerce as required.
Valid Class A CDL (self-certified as a Non-Excepted Interstate driver with the issuing state).
Clean MVR and PSP.
Age & Experience Requirements:
23 years of age with at least 2 years of full-time verifiable tractor-trailer experience, OR
21 years of age with 1 year of tractor-trailer experience if a graduate of an accredited truck driving school or with 1 year of Military driving experience.
Stable work history.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Regularly lift, pull, and push up to 70 pounds; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, shoveling, and overhead reaching.
Ability to regularly pull/roll up to 300 pounds when handling totes.
Ability to tolerate strong or unpleasant odors related to food waste and farm environments.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
