Assistant Dispatcher – Indianapolis, IN

Join a leading moving company in Indianapolis as an Assistant Dispatcher, where you'll help coordinate logistics for residential and commercial relocations. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist with daily dispatch operations for local and long-distance moves.
• Communicate with drivers, crews, and customers to ensure smooth service.
• Track truck locations and update schedules in real time.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup times to optimize efficiency.
• Respond promptly to service changes or issues in the field.
• Maintain dispatch logs and documentation accurately.
• Support senior dispatchers in planning and routing.
• Use dispatch software to manage workflows and updates.
• Ensure drivers comply with DOT and company safety standards.
• Handle basic customer service inquiries related to move status.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams for seamless execution.
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in dispatch or logistics, ideally in the moving industry.
• Familiarity with HHG or commercial relocation operations is a plus.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with dispatching software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics training is a plus.
